I have a history of gastric ulcers. I have bilateral plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my hand. The meloxicam seems to help my pain after taking for 30 days. I am concerned if there are any effects if used long term as maintenance drug.
Can meloxicam be taken long term?

The thing I worry about is that this type of med can cause ulcers. Talk to your dr. He may say its ok, maybe with prilosec or something.
That' s not a good ideal to take meloxicam long term If you have gastric ulcers, it can cause bleeding and liver damage, I would talk to your Doctor about taking it long term, he would be the one to advise you. My husband take's it, has to have checkup' s every 6 months and a liver scan once a year.
While many meds are for short-term use, a Dr who knows all the unique facts can prescribe these ongoing, really u to the Doc.
