I suggest you call the pharmacist. Water pills too close to thyroid med may disrupt the absorption of the thyroid med. also be very careful when you take your daily calcium with the thyroid med and the water pills. For best results, I suggest the thyroid then an hour or so later the water pills. Calcium with dinner. The better they all work, the faster you will stop the water pills.
Great info. Thanks alot!
Totally agree with Kaismama - Just would like to add that furosemide (generic for Lasix) is a water pill, and will make you urinate more frequently than usual for a few hours. Taken early in the day will prevent this from waking you up at night.
So is the HCTZ. They'll both keep you running.
Great advice. I did, however, find that out the hard way!! Thanks for your input!!
No, the thyroid med should be taken on an empty stomach, by itself, at least 30 min before you put anything else in your stomach. They others are ok to take together.
Been taking thyroid medicine for years. Did not know that! Thanks alot!
