My mom takes Furosemide daily with other medications. To avoid mistakes we prepare her a 7 day pill box. Are we affecting the properties of the drug by cutting it in halves and taking it out of it's original blister a week in advance?
Furosemide, can it be cut in half without affecting it's potency?

I would say that was absolutely fine. Furosemide can be a potent diuretic (partly patient dependant). My furosemide comes in a plastic bottle and I had a look at the contents and there were quarters, thirds, halves. The tablets appear to be insensitive to moisture and don't go crumbly. The tablets have been basically exposed to air for 6 months or so and they work as well as the day I got them.
