I’ve taken it for 10 days and I sleep well, but the next day’s reaction is troubling. I am nauseous and agitated.
Medication - Has anyone ever taken low dose mirtazapine (Remeron) for sleep?

I have taken it for a few years for depression and sleep. It normally puts me to sleep and I sleep about 6 hours. Occasionally, I sleep 7 hours or 5 hours. I haven't noticed any side effects.
I took 15 mg Remeron just 1 night and I slept for 17 hours and it wasn't a restful sleep. I got up , almost fell a couple of times cause I was stumbling. If I had young kids or had to work , I wouldn't have been able to. I was prescribed this for sleep and major depression. This was my experience so it might affect another person differently.
Nausea is a very common side effect and agitation is less common but has been reported. Side effects like these generally resolve within a week or two... if they are persistent contact your doctor for professional advice.
I took a low dose (don't remember exact dosage) of Remeron along with another medication for depression around 20 yrs. ago. It helped me sleep and I don't recall any side effects. However, it did cause weight gain so I stopped taking it within a year.
I was prescribed 15mg at night but found that I was to drowsy the following day. However it sure knocked me out for 9 hours solid sleep. I used a tablet splitter to half my dosage to 7.5mg and have found this to be ideal for a good nights sleep, however I am still a little drowsy the following morning. I'm on this dosage for over 6 months now and will keep going for another 6 months. My anxiety has reduced and my depression has lifted somewhat. I intend to start very slowly tapering in January of next year but this will depend on how I am feeling. So far so good. I should add that I am taking 2mg of diazepam twice daily (down from 5mg twice daily).
Yes, I took it at a low dose for depression & it certainly helped with sleep. I didn't have any bad reactions the following day though.
