I have been on Wellbutrin XL for over 10 years. Has anyone had cardiac issues of any kind after being on this long term? I have reduced my dose to 150 and my depression is fine. I don’t know how well Wellbutrin works for anxiety. My anxiety is not well controlled. My heart rate has been up quite a bit lately and have had a couple episodes of SVT, all my tests so far have been fine. So of course I am wondering if this is a result of uncontrolled anxiety… but I wondered about Wellbutrin since I’ve been on it so long and it is more of a stimulant
Is long term use of Wellbutrin XL safe?

Hi, Lizzy!
It doesn't appear as if the Wellbutrin is your culprit:
"Can Wellbutrin cause heart problems?
Bupropion, structurally unrelated to tricyclic antidepressants, is relatively free of cardiac side effects in depressed patients without cardiac disease."
Source: pubmed.gov
"Can you take Wellbutrin long term?
There is a low risk of cardiovascular adverse events associated with stimulating agents, including bupropion. This risk increases if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, previous heart attack, or irregular heartbeat, or when used with transdermal nicotine replacement products."
Source: National Alliance on Mental Illness
Are you taking any medication or therapy for your anxiety issues?
