I have been on Lexapro 5mg for exactly 16 days, my panic attacks stopped around day 3 but I'm still having anxiety on and off throughout the day and a lot of dizziness not sure if the dizziness is due to fluid I currently have in my ears or if it's from the Lexapro, so I figured I'd note it. I've also had some irritability on and off. I really want to give the medication time to fully work but I feel like it's not going to. I don't know if this let's people respond but if you could share your experience/story, maybe it will help.
Thanks.
How long did it take Lexapro to work for you?

Hi, Aria!
Most people will begin to feel some improvements within the first several weeks... like your panic attacks stopping... which is an indication that the medication is starting to work.
Both dizziness and irritability are potential side effects when starting an antidepressant but they usually subside after a week or two. I'd let your doctor know about the dizziness though.
To be honest, I took Lexapro for over seven years but that was many years ago. It must have worked quickly and with minimal side effects because I don't remember any problems I had. I do remember how effective it was for me and I think it'll be for you too. Just try to stay positive and don't let your anxiety tell you that it's not working.
Best regards and feel better quickly.
