Hi Lee1309. I was prescribed Cymbalta (duloxetine) for nerve pain but I ended up with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, weakness, exhaustion, emotional blunting, weight gain and so many other side effects. I stayed on Cymbalta for 10+ years not knowing that it was the medication causing everything until I found out that other people who were taking it were having the same side effects that I was. I’ve tapered off Cymbalta now and every side effect is gone. It never did help me with the nerve pain. I’m not saying that all this will happen to you but please beware of the side effects. They seemed to gradually creep up on me without me noticing right away. Take care and I wish you all the best.
This is one medication I've never used but this is from the literature on duloxetine:
"How Long Does It Take For Duloxetine To Work?
Sleep, energy, or appetite may show some improvement within the first 1-2 weeks. Improvement in these physical symptoms can be an important early signal that the medication is working. Depressed mood, anxiety, and lack of interest in activities may need up to 6-8 weeks to fully improve.
Best regards and I hope this helps.
Thanks
