How long did it take for anxiety to diminish on Duloxetine? It has been 24 days and not much relief?

Hi Lee,
Sorry you're having issues and hopefully they have cleared up more since you posted your question. I know the side effects can be hell and add to the already difficult situation of living with anxiety, but they do subside and things will get better.
I noticed your comments with Wildcat and I was a little surprised they had started you on 120mg per day. I've been on Cymbalta for almost 15 years and currently taking 60mg per day. Originally, I was prescribed 30mg and was on that dose for a few years before moving up.
I would like to say one last thing and it may sound a little counterintuitive at first. Because it takes effect slowly, it might be the people around you that notice big changes before you do. If possible, talk to them about it and you might just gain some interesting insights that may help.
Dear Lee1309, I started Cymbalta (i.e., Duloxetine) about ten years ago, for both pain and anxiety. I was started on 90mg capsules, but within 3 weeks I/We cut it back to 60mgs daily. It was extremely effective for the anxiety, squelching it within a couple of weeks! Perhaps you need a higher dose? Prior to starting Duloxetine, the only concern(s) stated were discomfort upon deciding to come off it! However, I dropped 30mgs and saw no discomfort!
Good Luck!
Thanks
So how long did it take in total to kick in?
Thanks
Hi, Lee!
Most people people begin to feel some improvements within the first 2-3 weeks but it can take 6 - 8 weeks for the drug to become fully effective. Anxiety is notoriously slow to respond to treatment so the going may take a little while.
What dose are you currently taking? I wonder if you might need a dosage adjustment? Talk to your doctor and let them know you're still not doing well.
Just to get an idea what some users have experienced:

Thanks again wildcat on 120mg
Lee, that's a pretty hefty dosage. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? Honestly, I don't want you you to have to consider a different medication.
Maybe the trick is a little more essence of time to see if it starts to kick in better? As I mentioned earlier anxiety disorders are slower to respond to treatment.
