My husband has taken two doses and the muscle spasms and pain in his neck is no better. Advil seems to help more that the muscle relaxer in relieving the pain.
How long does it take for cyclobenzaprine to take affect and stop the spasms?

In my experience, it starts to help faster on an empty stomach. I am prescribed 5 mg of this medicine. I'm always afraid of medicine so I actually half it and take it when my belly is empty. It seems to kick in in approximately 1/2 hour for me. The spasms always stop with this medication but the Advil seems to be better for the actual pain. I hope the empty belly too helps. I hope he feels better soon.
