Hi, Cb! Citalopram has an extremely long half life of about 35 hours which means traces of the medication can stay in your system for about a week. It also depends on the dose you were taking and for how long.
I'm assuming that perhaps you just started the medication and are experiencing the initial side effects? These normally resolve within just a few days to a week or two... but you should report them to your doctor right away.
Best regards and I hope you're feeling better very soon.
I have just started taking the drug 6 days ago with really bad side effects my doctor was worryed about the side effects I was getting I was only on 10mg a day so he stopped them so hoping something else may work thank you for your reply
You're welcome! Every patient responds differently to every medication so hopefully the next one you try will be better suited for you... there are a lot of options available to you. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your time hopefully I will get the right one thank you hope you have a lovely day
