How long will BuSpar take to work?

They take around 15 to 30 mins

It took at least a month for me. I was taking it along with Xanax and Kolonopin. Now I am off Xanax and get only 15 Kolonopin a month, however I am taking 20 MG 3x per day of Buspar for a total of 60 MG a day. I know that is a lot but being able to be off Xanax completely and only use Kolonopin a few times a month is awesome. It treats my constant anxiety way more effectively than all those benzos. I was completely surprised!

Lula1973: I have been on Buspar at least 15 years for Anxiety. I take 7.5 mg. two times a day. It took about a week for me to see results. Before starting medication I was always edgy and battled with insomnia. My brain would not rest. If I am going to be in a stressful setting (ex. crowded transportation or lot's of people I will take another 7.5 dose.) Seems to work for me. I was always active in my younger days because of this condition and spent many hours in a gym. Currently I am 59, and can't do that. I hope this helps.

I take buspar and it has been very effective in treating my anxiety. But I would like to suggest to you to start out at 5mg and build up to 10mg if you need that high of a dose, with your doctor's permission, of course. For me, I experienced some dizziness and fatigue at the higher dose. I would have to say that after some initial side effects, it started to alleviate my anxiety at around week 2 or 3. I also take wellbutrin with it. It has been a very effective combination in treating my anxiety/depression. Hang in there! G

In average it will take up to 4 weeks give or take, be patient.
