I take Flomax every day along with my breakfast, and it works just fine. Waiting a half-hour just usually causes me to forget to take it. I have found no difference between taking it with breakfast or waiting the recommended half-hour before taking it. However, my breakfast is usually a light meal. Maybe if you eat a huge meal it might make a difference.
I have been looking for an answer to the Q for awhile. All I see is "how long after taking Flomax, or tamsulosin can I eat again?" and all I see is the same answer... which isn't an answer... take it 30 min after eating. I KNOW THAT... how about an answer to the question above... I take it 30 minafter a meal and how long before I can eat again? And don't please answer with take it 30 min after a meal... I KNOW THAT.
TIA
I am having the same question, we understand that you eat something like breakfast for example and then 30 minutes after you take the Flomax. But how long after taking that flow max should we wait to eat again? Can we snack or have lunch soon after? Idk why people don’t understand this question. Like if I eat at 5pm every day and 30mins after 5 pm I take Flomax. Can I have a snack right after taking Flomax at 530 or do I need to wait?
You can eat 30 minutes after a meal.

How should I take Flomax?
Take Flomax exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Flomax is usually taken once a day, approximately 30 minutes after a meal. Try to take this medication at the same time each day.
Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule. Swallow the capsule whole.
Flomax lowers blood pressure and may cause dizziness or fainting, especially when you first start taking it, or when you start taking it again. Call your doctor if you have severe dizziness or feel like you might pass out.
Some things can cause your blood pressure to get too low. This includes vomiting, diarrhea, heavy sweating, heart disease, dialysis, a low-salt diet, or taking diuretics (water pills). Tell your doctor if you have a prolonged illness that causes diarrhea or vomiting.
Your blood pressure will need to be checked often. You will also need to be checked for prostate cancer before and during treatment with Flomax.
You may feel very dizzy when you first wake up. Be careful when standing or sitting up from a lying position.
If you stop taking Flomax for any reason, call your doctor before you start taking it again. You may need a dose adjustment.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Read all patient information, medication guides, and instruction sheets provided to you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions."

How should this medicine be used?
Tamsulosin comes as a capsule to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day. Take tamsulosin 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take tamsulosin exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow tamsulosin capsules whole; do not split, chew, crush, or open them.
Your doctor will probably start you on a low dose of tamsulosin and may increase your dose after 2 to 4 weeks.
Tamsulosin may help control your condition, but it will not cure it. Continue to take tamsulosin even if you feel well. Do not stop taking tamsulosin without talking to your doctor.

"The recommended starting dose is 0.4 once daily about 30 minutes after the same meal time each day. When taken on an empty stomach, more of the medication is absorbed. This could cause a greater effect and potentially a drop in blood pressure."
Food may affect the intestinal absorption of tamsulosin. You should take tamsulosin approximately one-half hour following the same meal each day to ensure steady absorption and blood levels of the drug.
