I've been taking Abilify 2mg for about two years. Was also taking Cymbalta to help with depression/anxiety. Abilify made a HUGE difference in my mood and motivation. No longer taking Cymbalta but still feel good. Have tried going off Abilify a few times (just thought I didn't need) but with bad results. Depression and seclusion followed. Good luck to you.
How long did the abilify take to work was the cymbalta already helping you though what do you suffer from we're you able to function

Such a scary place to b. Then u deal w guilt that u cant get out and live. Hoping it kicks in fast. Is weight gain an issue? Im so sedentary... worried.

I know the anxiety you speak of! Dread I call it! Abilify smoothed that out for me; I hope it does the same for you.
I I'm so glad that I seen your response. I have been on Wellbutrin 450 mg and clonazepam 1 mg a day twice a day for years. I'm just going to be starting Abilify tomorrow I don't expect results right away but hearing from you maybe I can reduce my Wellbutrin a little bit at a time while being on Abilify. Again thank you for your response.
I have been on abilify for two Weeks and I started feeling a difference after about a week. It is Suppose to be faster acting than most. Every body reacts different. He may NeEd to up your dose. Be sure and let doc. know. Please keep us informed. I know for me, abilify is starting to help a lot.
Thanks. Can you tell tell me your dose? Are you taking it along with an antidepressant?
I Just now saw your question! I'm still learning how to get around here lol. I'm taking 5Mg abilify, 150 effexor- and 150 wellbutrin.
Thx did you start the abilify cause the other meds weren't working? Do you have depression and anxiety
I also take 0.25Mg ativan for anxiety, (I don't need to take it often but it's there, if I do), lol
Did u start abilify cause the other meds weren't working thx
I had Ability added to my Wellbutrin 4 days ago. I can already see a difference in the way I had been feeling. I feel more motivated and its not as hard for me to get ready and go out. Also I laughed today. I have some energy and some get up and go. I think the 5 mg of Ability is doing wonders for me after only 4 days. If it keeps up making me feel so much better, I will give it a 10. I hope you do as well as me on it.
Are you only taking abilify?
I have taken Abilify in addition to my antidepressant for years with great results. The antidepressants were just not enough to keep my depression under control.
Thx can you please tell me how long before I may see results I am on 2mgs added to my 20mgs of lexapro which hasn't worked so far so he added the abilify
Abilify may take up to four weeks for to build to therapeutic levels.
Hope you feel relief before then, as others have felt relief even before four weeks. I've not taken this med, but most antidepressants take around that time to start working.
Best wishes to you,
Lara
Teresa, if you feel no relief on these meds, perhaps they are the wrong meds for you, IF you've given them enough time to work? There comes a point where you need to tell your doctor that the medication is NOT working and you need to try something different if it's been over a five - six week period.
OR, find another doctor if this one isn't getting the job done for you.
Good luck Teresa,
Lara
I just started taking Abilify 2mg with 10mg of Lexapro. Hope it works quickly. How about wine? I probably should stay away.
Probably should as alcohol is a depressant.
What mg?
What mg?
I been taking 2mg abilify for 3 days now in the mornings... no side effects but no change either.
I also have wine in the evenings with no effects... wonder when it will start working
Takes the Abilify a few weeks to build in your system and you are on a low dose so be patient. The lexapro is a pretty fast a cting antidepressants comparatively speaking so you may begin to feel results in the first couple of weeks, but going to take upwards of a month or so get the most positive effects. Don't be alarmed if you notice some side effects in the beginning such as headache, nausea and some heightened anxiety which are usually transient and will subside in the first couple of weeks.
Im on no other drug other then abilify 2mg.
No side effects and its day 4... my main concern is TD and if i get any symptom like twitching or mouth movements iam done... anybody experience TD while on a low dose?
What I'd td?
