I tried Linzess and it worked for a few days and stopped working. I tried another prescription and it worked longer and stopped. Have you tried fiber powders? After the prescriptions, my Doc recommended Benefiber which worked for me. I now buy Wal-Mart's Equate Fiber Powder. The powder totally dissolves in the water. You feel as if you're drinking water. Not at all like Metamucil.

No, Miralax is a laxative, best avoided except for occasional emergencies. Look in the laxative area of your store, but look for Benefiber. Look for a cheaper store brand if you desire. Some products are wheat dextrin or plain dextrin. Dextrin is a polysaccharide.
