I have been taking Lexapro for 7 weeks. I was on bupropion but had to go off of bupropion because of the side effects. Why is Lexapro taking so long to kick in?

Hi, Allyson!
It usually takes about 6-8 weeks to become fully effective but you should see some signs of improvement earlier than that. You don't mention the dosage you're taking but you might need an increase.
Be sure to let your doctor know where you're at and your apparent lack of improvement. They'll be able to give you professional advice.
Best regards,
I’m on 20mg of lexapro just went off bupropion due to side effects!! I think lexapro is working but don’t have that calm yet! Went off bupropion a week ago and I’m on cancer medication targeted therapy tagrisso
I'm so sorry about your cancer diagnosis!
You're pretty much maxed out on the Lexapro dosage so hopefully it's just a matter of a little more time.
Thank you!! It took a long time before to.
