Has anyone changed from taking Zoloft to Lexapro and noticed any differences? I have heard Lexapro’s slower release is beneficial. I have taken Zoloft for about 20 years and take the highest dose 200mg so there isn’t much flexibility for adjustment now. I am worried about needing to wean off completely to start on a new medication. (Reducing by 50mg every 2 weeks). Will be doing so under medical guidance.
Does Lexapro provide more benefits than Zoloft?

Recently, over the past few years, my p doc has let me transition from one anti- depressant to another. You taper down. to a low mg, then add the new ad at a low dosage. For whatever time period your doc recommends. This way you don’t have to completely get one out of your system. It was very helpful to me in going from viibryd to Zoloft. I had the Zoloft liquid. I started with literally only three drops and transitioned that way. But it could have been more than three drops. That’s just what I did. Of course this would only work with two medicines that have no interactions together. And obviously couldn’t do it with a MAOI. You could ask your doc about it.
