If so, is this a bad reaction I should get checked out or will it go away over time? I just started Lamictal 6 days ago. I started experiencing this back pain in between my shoulders about 3 or 4 days ago. When I turn my neck I hear almost like a crackling type sound. But the back pain is my only symptom. No numbness or tingling or anything.
Does Lamictal cause upper back pain?

I've been taking Lamictal/lamotrigine for ~20 years and not experienced that problem. However, different people react differently. I would definitely give it a week or two to settle down. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.
Hi, Renaylynn!
According to the literature neck and back pain commonly affects about 1-10% of users but is usually temporary. These side effects generally resolve within a week or two.
But as masso said, if it persists much longer you should ask your doctor for their advice.
Best regards and I hope you're feeling better quickly.
Back pain is considered a common side effect affecting 1% to 10% being treated with this anticonvulsant. If it does not subside within a week inform your Dr..
