Answers
Janumet contains a combination of metformin and sitagliptin and is used to lower blood glucose in type 2 diabetes.
Metformin works by decreasing glucose (sugar) production in the liver and decreasing absorption of glucose by the intestines. Sitagliptin works by regulating the levels of insulin your body produces after eating.
Janumet should be taken with your meals. The evening meal is preferable - just before the meal is fine.
Please check to make sure your doctor wants you to continue with the Metformin as Janumet also contains Metformin and taking too much is dangerous.
