... wierd or bizzare dreams?
Is there any impact on dreaming after sustained suboxone use, taken as prescribed. Can it cause?

Hi. I have been on suboxone for 2 years and I feel like I don't dream or sometimes I do feel like I had a dream but I can't remember it. It's so weird because I always used to dream especially while on antidepressants. So many things I miss feeling because of the suboxone. I used to love music and now I just can't feel it. Also, I know you're not supposed to drink alcohol while on suboxone but I've tried to have a beer or 2 at a wedding or special occasion and I feel like I get a hangover right away without any buzz. I feel sick if I drink. Does anyone else feel like this? I hope your dreams don't frighten you or cause you anxiety. TC Larsy1966 :)
I used to love music, too. I don't know what I like anymore because everything I know is 5 years old. Everyday I'm realizing how much I've missed out on.
What about the music that you loved 5 years ago? Can you feel that music? I can't feel it like I used to feel it. How are you doing now? Your Friend, Larsy1966 :)
I feel sure this isn't going to totally give you the answer you are looking for but I was not on suboxone I was on the oxycontin four to five years ago you know I remember having such intense vivid dreams this is also just for you to know I hope you find the answer you are looking for but as soon as I saw this I happened to recall just how intense those dreams were and you know I believe it was due to the oxycontin I have a friend who is a nurse practicioner and she told me a lot of the opiates like that and morphine can cause vivid dreams take care
I've been on strong opiates for quite a while and have pretty vivid dreams at night. I don't always remember them but some have stuck with me and yes, pretty bizarre ones too! Suboxone is an opiate so maybe it is a side effect. Good question!! I thought my dreams were related to every day stresses, not meds. Maybe there is a relationship there. I'll have to research this a bit more.
Take care and hope the dreams aren't too bad for you.

I asked 2 other people about this tonight. They're both been on suboxone for 3 and 6 months and have memorable, sometimes bad dreams. My boyfriend said the first dream he can remember in a long time was last week and it woke him up. We've been on it for a month so maybe there is a connection and I'm an exception. Sorry I'm a babbler but just wanted to tell you!

No such thing as babbling on DC, Kate! The more input, opinions, experiences shared, the more we all learn. :-)
What a coincidence! I was reading up on the origins of morphine. It's been around since 1807, sold out of a little store called "Merck." As in Merck Pharmaceuticals. Named after Morpheus, the Greek God of Dreams!!
Dan had a dream last night that his nose was bleeding and he couldn't stop it. Weird! He's 2 for 2 now. Me.. still nothing. No brain activity, haha.
Had a bad one myself last night. Lately they all seem to be about finances!
It's very odd that you asked this question because I was thinking about it today. I was addicted to oxycontin for 5 years and used suboxone for periods of time all throughout those years. I've been on it everyday for a month, and I just don't dream anymore. I used to all the time before I was using. My boyfriend feels the same. Maybe it's because we just don't remember, but neither of us has had a dream that we can recall in years. I have no clue if that has anything to do with anything.. I know this probably doesn't help but just FYI.
