Enteric coated drugs are coated with substances that will only dissolve in the intestine rather than the stomach. This is due to the harmful effect of these substances on the stomach.
Extended release, sustained release or controlled release all mean the same thing. They are drugs that are released slowly or dissolved over a longer period of time. This way you don't have to take it as often.
