For those interested I will post the link to adipex-P below. After reading about it, I can see why doctors don't dispence this drug. Too many side effects, it's a weight loss drug, not listed specifcally for IBS, it can cause constipation and/or diarrhea, interreacts with lots of conditions & other meds you may be on etc... That's my take on it anyway...

Thanx Mary-I voted up and can't comment on your answer. I have IBS and sometimes a vitamin deficiency sneaks up on me because I don't absorb nutrients correctly. What I see of weight loss aids is that they speed up the metabolism- in other words-you don't absorb food and have lots of bowel movements. I already do this, but I'm gaining weight anyway. I take meds to slow down my metabolism. I was just curious about
