35 y/o male wondering if anyone has taken Klonopin with Lunesta, and what were the results? Currently on 0.5 mg of Klonopin but it’s no longer giving me the full night’s sleep I need. I get to sleep, then wake up after a few hours. Psych recommended increasing Klonopin dose or adding Lunesta to current Klonopin dose.
I was prescribed 3 mg of Lunesta and 2 mg of Klonopin for sleep. The downfall of Klonopin is that it has a very serious withdrawal symptoms and you don't even realize it, and so when you stop taking it and you think that it's just a sleep medication, when it's so much more and it's a benzo and your body goes through a sickness and very very bad brain zaps and anxiety, if you stop taking the drug suddenly, But it does work well for sleep .I have to admit that it worked like a charm for me. 2 mg as I think that was the highest dose at the time and Lunesta 3mg were the only things that would put me to sleep. Just try not to take the Klonopin too long it may be uping your Lunesta dose a little bit, if needed.

I take these 2 meds successfully together: During the day I take 0.5mg Klonopin and evening another one. To keep my anxiety at bay round the clock. There are no addiction concerns here because i have the most severe form of anxiety and insomnia that without these meds I'd be a total suicidal basket case. You're lucky that your doc is willing to try these 2 meds together! They WORK! Lunesta keeps you sleep longer than Ambien, without the awful side effects Ambien has. Try them! You will be off to dreamland for 7-8 hours!

They both create a dependance and eventually you need more for it to work. I experienced the same thing with klonopin I researched and found out how dangerous it is and I'm tapering off it now. I was in tolerance and I'm glad I didn't add more medication to taper off of. Just be careful and good luck
