it is my first time and i want to make sure if I pushed the nuvaring deep enough in, because I can still feel it when I stick my finger back in but I feel comfortable.
When I inserted the nuvaring must I feel it when I stick my finger back in?

It needs to be all the way up, by your cervix. You can feel your cervix if you get in there far enough. It feels like the tip of your nose.
