Been using for years but this is week 2 of this cycle and Ring was out for total of 12 hours! Put back in the next morning. Had intercourse in the first hour ring was out. . Should I take the day after pill? Will it conflict with the nuvaring?
Took out Nuvaring for sex and forgot to put back in after. Was I Protected?

You were probably protected for that instance of sex, but may not be protected now for any further sex for the next seven days after it was out that long. You can take emergency contraceptive if you want to be sure. It wont conflict with Nuva Ring but it may make your cycle a bit irregular for a time. Generally it is safe to leave it out for up to 3 hours. Beyond that there is a possibility for ovulation.

Did you put a new ring in? The old one isn't going to be any good after 3 hrs.
I would question it and take the morning after pill.
