Hello,
My daughter is in the same situation. She has been taking 20mg ability and she is 4 months pregnant.
We don't have a clear picture of what to expect. My daughter stopped taking ability for one month and she started having again psychotic symptoms. The doctor told us that she must carry on taking ability.
Please if any of you who have already had your babies can give me some update about your situation, that would be so important.

Hi,
I got pregnant in 2014 while I was taking 5 mg Abilify. Then I started to take 2.5mg during my pregnancy. I had a difficult pregnancy I had bleeding and finally I got my healthy baby at 34+1 week. He stayed in the hospital for 10 days. But as I said he was a healthy premature baby.
I wish you have a healthy pregnancy and a very healthy baby.
Also when I got pregnant I was 42 :) and was smoking but I quit two weeks after I found that I was pregnant.

You are very welcome. I hope you will have healthy pregnancy if you wish to contınue. Please have good food during your pregnancy such as lots of vegetables some nuts and meat. Because my blood type is O Rh + i don't eat much dairy product but I ate yogurt and ice cream. Also I used to eat fruits too especially banana :). Nutrition is important during pregnancy as you know.
Most probably your doctor will prescribe some vitamins. It is better to take them regularly.
I tried to keep my mood good you know it is not always easy especially if you have depression I used to pray and meet friends. That helped too.
Take a good care. And please keep in touch if you can. I would like to hear from you if it is possible.

I am in the same boat, I just found out I am 2 months pregnant and have been taking 15 mg Abilify the whole time... My OB/GYN, who I am not confident with said I should remain on it, while my new psychiatrist told me it is very dangerous for the fetus and put me on halidol which is much safer. I took Halidol during my first pregnancy and she is fine. I am going tomorrow for a sonogram to see if the fetus is ok, if not, I certainly will have an abortion. Hope this helps.

I took abifly and was one month pregnant and lost the baby. My psychiatrist took me off this the next time i tried as i had ivf. U Gould tra tranquilizers that are Safe for pregnancy. And breasstfeeding.

get off it now ,stop taking it asap , my son was born after a abilify pregnancy , with server congental heart diease , he would have survive but died of major amounts of bloodcots everywhere in his body , get off it now , its extremally dangours to feotus , ablilfy might be the reason my son died , do not listen at all to ur doctor about abilify as they have no evdenice on human feotus barr 3 other babys and my son, my son died , 1 baby born with birth defects and 2 been monitered throw out life cause they have no idea at all the life long out come of abilify on ur child , i am been deadly serious , stop taking asap

i have two little girls aged of 2 and 4 I took abilify during a month and solian then for depression and anxiety. They are still alive but alittle nervous for the first one sometimes.

Guys I'm more in love with Abilify everyday. The company replied and I'm so happy these people have this respect to their consumer.
They told me that in 6 cases, 5 cases gave birth to perfectly normal babies, while one case was abnormal, but that was on a high dosage, and mine is only 10 mg. I find this ratio really relieving, and only now that I'm purely happy with my pregnancy and happy and convinced with my lovely medication. :):)
Thank you guys for your support, I needed it so much. Just wish me a safe pregnancy and delivery the same way you wish any normal woman!!! :):):)

Unfortunately there are no studies to verify the effects of Abilify on human development only animal studies. You must weigh the benefits of the medication against the possible risks to the fetus. It is best if you discuss this with the obstetrician and the prescribing doctor as they can help you weigh the benefits against the risks. The prescribing doctor should be able to recommend alternatives to the Abilify that will have less possible effect on the baby.
May I ask what your condition is for taking the Abilify? I take it as an adjunct to my antidepressant and if I was pregnant I would probably try to do without, but that is just me. Please discuss with the prescribing doctor before making a decision.

I've been having disturbing thoughts about being followed, watched, etc..
all these thoughts are gone already and other than being worried about my baby ive became my old carefree and happy person again. But my doctor says that all these thoughts would be back again if i dont continue taking it, and that they may come back worse, especially with pregnancy hormones increasing in my body that will encourage all the past symptoms to come back even more fiercly. I'm just hoping id find someone to give me a definite answer.. coz all this worry is too much to take.. not today , tomorrow, 10 weeks.. it's for 9 months that i dont know how they'll end up :(:(

Unfortunately no one can tell you what to do. With the advice of your psychiatrist and the advice of an obstetrician, you will have to decide what to do. You need to see an obstetrician though anyway you decide. Can you make an appointment soon?
You have more seious symptoms then I so you may not be able to do without something for the symptoms. The obstetrician will be able to run periodic tests for monitoring the baby including amniocentesis if necessary. So you really need to make an appointment with the obstetrician and get started on prenatal care.

I've made an appointment next week.. this amniocentisis is a good idea :D I didn't know about it.. but seems it can be really useful for reassurance during the 9 months..
I've also taken the company contact numbers and called them. I'm expecting them to call tomorrow.. i just hope they take my case with the concern I felt they would..

thanx alot for replying..:):) the problem is dat im in a situation where i need to take a decision.. and the decision would either be:
1-proceed and have a healthy baby, which I dearly wish would happen..
2-proceed and have an abnormal baby, which would totally change my life for ever
3-have an abortion and lose a child who could have been born healthy.
I'm in a very bad situation and would really want an answer.. :(:(
