I was just prescribed .25 white tablets instead and don't want to take too much.
If the Xanax bars are 2 mg, what is the dosage of each quarter?

Each quarter of a 2mg Xanax would be 0.50mg. 2 of your 0.25mg would equal that quarter bar.
If i am right i think 8 0.25tablets is equal to 2mg bar.
Is that what you wanted to know?

Puckiemull is right. Can you get a pill splitter at the pharmacy, you will have to cut them in half, and those halves into four pieces each = 8 pieces.
Best wishes to you.
