... What effects (if any) did you experience once off of it? I know if I miss a dose or two, it feels like my head is swimming (like a dizziness) and I was wondering if anyone else had similair or different reactions.
I'd like to hear from someone who stopped taking luvox... did you have to taper off of the drug?

This maybe really late, but noticed there was update. I took Luvox for probably 5 yrs. and it’s been almost 5 yrs. since I stopped taking it. My Dr. Had put me on Luvox because I had ocd. But I was put on Effexor xr.. when I stopped the Luvox, about 2 days later noticed I was getting a really bad headache, that kept getting worse. Originally I thought I had the flu. Then not only headache but about day later I thought I had eaten something bad because my stomach was very nauseated. At first it really didn’t dawn on me that I was withdrawing from an anti-depressant. But, soon I went through intense pain throughout my body. I had to call off from my job for a couple days, I slept a lot and ate toast and broth. It seemed intense. I think it took about a total of 10 days to get through it for me. But I did it. Hope you got through it. Now on 2nd day of trying get off of Effexor xr. That’s not fun at all either!
I tapered off over 10 days from 100 mg a day to 0mg.
That was 4 days ago. I still have headaches, sometimes bad ones, shakiness, & last night I could only sleep one hour.
I heard withdrawal symptoms can last about a month. Hope not; I can barely function.
Yes I am coming off Luvox 150mg. I did it over a week and a half and then i started taking mirtazipine. I am getting horrible side effects and can’t function a lot of the time. I hope it doesn’t take too long to get better
I assume it depends on what dose you were on and for how long.
I stopped after 18 days with no taper at 50mg because of stomach cramps.
After four days I'm very tired and still have the cramps.
Well & finally. I took the good way of fluvoxamine. I have decreased, however I just did it because it felt right.
I came off from 200mg to 25mg over a 7 month period. Side effects? More so coming off the 25mg's. The occasional but regular buzzes through my head to my feet, can affect my walking. Feeling like I'm going to collapse. Waves of shock just come & go. Head feels like it's going to explode.
Get emotional for no reason.
I'm not giving up on myself, I don't quit.
Having these meds have been a life saver.
I couldn't have moved forwards without them. But now apart from the effects (hoping they will subside) I'm leading a normal happy life.
I was on 150mg Luvox CR. I decided to quit cold turkey and experienced horrible withdrawal symptoms. Mostly they were confined to the head. I felt like a hot/burning tingling sensation in my head, a general flush feeling to the face, a lot of pressure, and brief waves of dizziness that lasted a second or two but would happen every ten to fifteen minutes. After 6 days I went back on it, and have been back on it for 5 months now. For the most part the withdrawal symptoms have subsided in intensity, but to tell you the truth, I haven't felt the same since quitting cold turkey. If you want to stop taking Luvox I highly recommend a slow and steady taper.
