I am prescribed oxycodine 5mg four times daily. I have two herniated discs?
I went to my doctor and they gave me a drug test (urine). The test came back neg- it said there was absalutly no drugs in my system, but i take them four times a day and even two the same day i gave my urine sample. Three days later the same exact thing happend to my friend. I now have to find a new doctor, cause they said I broke the narcotic agreement, because the oxycodine didnt show in my test. Can anyone explain why this could have happend the drug should have been in my urine. thanks MJ
Why would oxycodone not show up in a urine drug test if I have taken it?

Well, this is still a problem in 2024. I've been talking Percocet for many years and all of a sudden my UAs started coming back negative. My Drs NP even accused me of selling the drugs. I was so angry that I quit him and found another doctor. I also started going to a Pain Clinic. I guess we will see what happens now.
My question is the same as above question
Maybe an urine ostomy can interfere!
This just happened to me this past week. My Dr informed me that I had tested negative and she would no longer be prescribing me the whopping 2 5mg tabs I get for chronic pain per day. While it wasn't much, at least it was SOME relief. The real tragedy here, is this goes on our records. I'm 54 years old. I'm not selling. I'm not misusing. The Drs simply aren't willing to listen anymore. I now have to find a new Dr. because like many of you, the nurses have made a point of treating me like I'm some junkie now and I have absolutely NO faith in this particular Dr anymore. Good luck to you all.
I just this morning had my Dr. of 10 years cut me loose as the Oxycodone I take daily (3x15mg) has not shown up in my urinalysis 3 times this year (I also take MS Contin which did show up) so of course he thinks I'm diverting my meds, which I'm not. I may be crazy but not stupid! I understand he did what he had to do-the 3 strikes rule-but not why this happened. Any ideas are welcomed.
I went through something simular to yours, best thing l can tell you to contact your health insurance ASAP. And start calling pain management clinics. I was bless to find a new dr
I'm trying to find a new pain Dr. but the fkng DEA has most Dr.s running scared and when they see opioids they get hinky about prescribing, esp to a new pt. Let the DEA spend a week with my pain & see how they do!
This just happened to me today also(Sept 20th, 2017)! I take oxycodone 20mg up to 5 times a day, everyday. I cannot go one day without, cannot move or function from the pain. I took a UA this morning that was negative for anything. I took my med yesterday all day, last night before bed, and again this morning before my apt. Got UA about an hour after getting to appt. How is this possible?! I see other people have had this happen as well! Please help!
Contact your health insurance ASAP. Start calling pain management clinics, ask friends, neigbors, Somebody always know someone with the same problems that you are going through. I went through my issue this Nov. Found me a great new Dr. Nov24. GOD IS GOOD
I just saw my pain dr and was dropped for negative results after being on percocet for almost 4 years!! They only told me of one negative result and not the other 3 results till today. I take it exactly as I was told to. I had no warning so I'm stuck trying to find a way to manage my pain. All tests done at a different lab were positive. It makes me wonder if I got dropped for another patient who they can make more money off of.
I would like to know myself because I'm on pain meds and it also didn't show up so it's being sent to another lab and i did take it for sure like I always do and I'm not happy about this at all and I just don't understand how this works.
I also took all my meds and oxycodone didn't show up and i took the meds all the same time!! I failed twice in a row never had this probably for almost three years! I am very upset! I didn't get released but had to sign a final warning! And the Nurse practitioner said it loud enough for other people to here it all! So embarrassed!
Same thing happened to me today. My Adderall didn't show up either, and I take both of them together twice a day every day! I don't really care because I wanted to get off the vicodin anyway, but it's the principle of the thing! I think my doctor thinks I was selling them or something. Sheez... those things are FAR more valuable than money when the pain is bad. I refused to give my boyfriend even one for a headache one time.
How to transfer my husband has the same problem and the doctors think he's not taking his medication he has 5 herniated decision to sign attic nerves taking medication since 20 years have you found a solution or anybody to help you let me know
It seems to me that there is either a problem with the drug tests or a problem with the prescriptions themselves. Of course, one would think that the medications you get from the pharmacist is exactly what they are supposed to be ... and that the generic drugs are the same medications as the name brand ones. At least , this is what we are all told by the FDA. In fact, we are all lead to believe the reason that medications are so very expensive in the good ole USA is because of the extensive amount of testing and precautions that the drug manufactures have to take in order to sell these medications here. The question remains, if so much care goes into making these drugs and everyone is so very worried about people taking exactly what they are supposed to, wouldn't it make sense to have accurate drug test as well. Since my last post, I have had another negative test. That time, I had my med's with me.
Took a dose in front of the doctor. Tested again a few hours later (which according to the doc should have been enough time for that dose to show up in the test). That test also came back negative. Needless to say, the doctor apologized and said he guess he needs to find better test. If our care is dependent on these test and we (at least I do) have to pay for the test, shouldn't the doctor make sure to get test that are of a good quality to begin with??? We would get in trouble if we ordered these drugs from somewhere else?? Why should doctors or labs be allowed to get second rate supplies from foreign countries if those supplies and test do not hold up to the standards that out medications are supposed to?? Where or who can patients complain to???
This happened to me, yesterday!! My dr. won't even speak to me on the phone!! I take morphine and oxycodone. My urinalysis first tested negative for EVERYTHING. They sent the same urine sample to a lab. It came back positive for dilaudid, negative to oxycodone. I had to contact the lab, which is in a different state. The dr insisted I took dilaudid until the lab told them my meds could metabolize to look like dilaudid on a urinalysis. I have offered to take a blood test to prove I took my meds and meds only and that I took them correctly. It's sad the lab had to tell my pain dr. about how meds metabolize. He still will no longer see me because now he said the test was still neg for oxycodone. Believe me, if I had something to hide, I wouldn't have gone through all of this to prove to my dr I'm doing everything correctly. Dr's should really know their pts and understand, there are times, they should just use blood tests before they make a terrible mistake in losing a great pt and causing them grief.
This same thing just happened to me today! Been taking Vicodin for chronic neck pain and got a phone call from my doc today saying it didn't show up in my urine test, therefore it was a violation of my pain contract and I would need to find a new doctor. I assured her I took it the night before I came in, just as I did every night, so I didn't know why it wouldn't show up??? Clinic policy... I now need to find another physician. It's crazy!
Glad to know I'm not the only one this happened to, yet... WHY does it not show?
This happened to me as well! But I would not leave the clinic until they re-tested me and I made them do it front of me cuz it just wasn't right. I have been taking them for years and all of a sudden it's negative! My Dr was like oh there's no reason to take the test again it'll say the same thing. I was on my way out the door empty handed and in tears, I seen the nurse and asked her if she could re-test me and she said yeah but I'd have to wait til she got back from her lunch. So an hour later she gave me a cup and said to leave a urine and she tried to just walk back to her little lab area without me but I stopped her and said I wanted to see her do it and all of a sudden she says "oh well this one is positive" Yea that is what I thought. Its effed up cuz they make you feel like a druggy or like you are doing something illegal when in al reality it is them who is effing up.
I hope one day all this BS stops and they figure out what is up with them tests... that is if its the tests are the problem. Somehow I think maybe the Drs have something to do with it ???

This happened to me 2 days ago, and now I'm supposed to find a new doc. I'm so confused and I don't know how to convince my doc I did nothing wrong here.
The same thing happened to me. My Dr has given me 4 UA's with all coming back negative when I'm taking my perc as rx'd. Totally frustrated. Trying to follow the rules but feeling as if I've done something wrong. wth?
my mother had the same thing happen to her after taking oxycodone 7.5 for 2 &a half years- she had a neg reading and was terminated for breaking the pain contract. she went to another docter who was willing to beleive her; did another urine screen and it came back negative ! Iwas with her all day that day and I saw her take her med that morning and again after lunch. Something is really wrong here!
I am so sorry this has happened to u. I thought I was the only one. Its a nightmare. My Dr. also took my meds away. I have also been looking for answers. I feel humiliated, I feel like I have done something wrong and I am being persecuted .. I always try to do the right thing but it becomes harder and harder. There has to b a problem with these drugs, I wish I had known, I would have asked for something else, but Ive always trusted my Dr. to bad they don't trust me... Ive have been on these 4 1/2 years without a problem. Now they told me to just to go to rehabilitate. That's fine but what do I do for pain? I'm sorry, I didn't answer your question I'm just releived that I'm not going mad... If u have info that could help me, I would b indebted to you. Thank you.
