How soon after starting furosemide will it start working?

Furosemide will generally start working within a hour of taking it. That is not to say if you have significant edema, it will go down right away. That can be different for everyone. Most people notice a difference overnite that their edema has gone down. There are many variables though, like what is the cause of the edema (or swelling).
