Answers
"It takes anywhere around 6–9 hours for half of the losartan you consume to leave your system. After entering your body, the drug gets broken down into smaller particles called metabolites. The drug, after rendering its effects, is excreted completely from the blood through urine in a couple of days"
Regarding discontinuing the drug, I suggest you ask your Dr. and get proper medical guidance/advice and do it properly.
One last point:
If you stop taking losartan, your blood pressure could go up again. If you need medicines to lower your blood pressure, you'll probably need to take them for the rest of your life. Remember, by keeping your blood pressure low, you're protecting yourself against having a heart attack or stroke in the future.
