I just want to know how long it takes for the body to metabolize this medication. I know for example, Lithium, needs to build up in your system, Is Saphris one like that or does it rise and fall through the day. I take 10mg twice a day and seem to be doing pretty well on this.
How long does it stay in the body? Saphris?

Hey Princess,
It takes approximately three days to reach a steady level in the blood stream. If you continue taking this med as prescribed twice a day then it will stay at a constant level through out the day. The mean half life (the time it takes to reduce the drug by half) is 24 hours. So it would take approximatly 4 days for it to leave the body.
Hope this helps,
Laurie
