I want to drink on New Year's Eve, but that will be only 12 hours after I finish my week supply of Itraconazole and don't want to become ill.
How long after taking Itraconazole do I need to wait before drinking alcohol?

It stays in your system for up to 80 hours after you take the medication. I would give your family physician a call before the Holidays and ask to see if it would be okay. I've heard in some cases doctors will let their patients drink on occasion if done responsibly. Like I said before give your doctor a call. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy the New Years, if not with alcohol than maybe a nice cold Mountain Dew or Pepsi! Happy Holidays!
