I get panic attack very often. Also shaking people notice that for in public. I been taking pills that doctors prescribed me medications that don't work for me
I can relate to the instant relief that Xanax provided and since it has been restricted here in Australia I have had severe trouble finding something that is just as effective. Ever since 2012 I have been trying to get by on Clonazepam but it just doesn't work as well. I suffer from severe panic and mood disorders which cripples my ability to function in everyday society. In short I am looking for either a Xanan substitute or the original. Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed. Thanks
Hello azafonte, just be honest with your doc. Tell him/her how you suffer from panic attacks and the other meds you tried did not help. A lot of doctors don't like to be asked for a specific drug as they think you want it to get high. Take what they give then next time around suggest xanax.
Best of luck ... pamee
I agree with psychmajor. Xanax has a short half life and the best benzo would be valium as it has the longest half life. It would be better for you to try another non-addictive med for your anxiety that is not addicting, cause benzo's are hell to get off of.
I've been on xanax now for about 3 years and I don't find it addictive but I don't have really an addictive personality, I was honest with my doctor I told her that someone I know gave me a few of there's xanax well the generic brand and It really help me after I had my child ,
I had really bad panic attacks I thought my child was going to get hurt or sick I couldn't sleep I couldn't take my eyes off of her not even to rest I was so afraid I also I'm bipolar and wasnt on any medications other than hydrocodone from my c section I could barely stand take that it made me so nauseous so I know I'm not a pill addict a lot of people say getting xanax is like pulling teeth but I find it very easy to get from doctors if you're honest and tell them that you previously taken it mostly they will start you want to start you on a low dose0.25 is what I started at and my doctor gradually increase my dose at my request as seem to not work so well after a few months. best of luck to you if you live in Texas I'm pretty sure it will be easy to get preferably from your physician so her or she can monitor your response to medication, Just be sure to tell them that you have severe panic attacks NOT depression, as they will try to prescribed you an antidepressant you can simply refuse that medication just as they can also easily deny your request for xanax , I was very adamant about not taking/wanting antidepressamts and that I had very severe panic attacks and anxiety more than likely they will have you fill out a paper or a questionnaire read all of the questions carefully because most of them are just repeated in a different way my guess is to see me if you're lying based on your answers if you answer 1 a certain way an answer the same question only in a different paraphrase differently from the way you answered before they will most likely not give you the medication, that being said it doesn't mean you can't get it , but the legitimate or legal way is much safer, I'm probably cheaper
I've been having real bad panic attacks now for about 40 weeks, it's been unbearable the past 30 40 days, I used to go to sleep very easy, if not in 20 25 minutes. Well the past 2 an a half weeks has been hard. I always had trouble sleeping but I got that under control due to a 1mg football a friend of, mine gave me. I did not ever heard of Xanax, tell you the truth is thought it was for woman. So the next time I got one I was willing to ask her all about them, she told me no, they are for anxiety, I did not no what was this was, she told me it's like being anxious or worried about something all the time. We'll tell you how I always feel. I feel like I'm falling off a cliff all the awake or a splendid, I get nerves all the time to the point that I just wanna be alone for the rest of my life, plus I have a beautiful fiance I wove more than anything, an a stepdaughter that does not deserve my actions towards her. Please share help me figure out how to get help. Thank an I have a Google day
Look I Know You Said Not To Rant And Rave About How Addictive It Is But Im Going To,, i was 16 when i first got given xanax i was having severe panic attacks and within days i was taking 40 a day trying to keep up on what ever high i was on a normal xanax prescription lasts for 6 weeks mine lasted me 5-6 days, I WAS 16. I dont have and addictive personality usualy as i had taken other illegal drugs before and never found my self to get addicted. Anyway try lexapro they work and there no where near as addictive. BTW i still struggle with this adiction 4 years on.
You are so annoying. No one asked for your 2 cents.
40 a day
40 bars a day I think you confused B
40 a day??? Rookie #'s
Could someone please tell me a Doc that will prescribe me Xanax please n thanks
I think you would have ended up in the hospital on 40 Xanax. Even if it was the lower doses.
I would question the credibility of your comment amyylouisse-x.
AmyyLouisee .. Lol 40 .. Equalling 10mg total? Or what... Shoulda said it like that before making it look like taking something that's potentially gonna help is gonna end up being a 40 pill a day problem... Talk about making you anxious.. I personally believe 16 is to young for Xanax, but that's my opinion. Personally Valium helped my anxiety, but I was having seizures also previous to my anxiety. The Valium 10mg fixed both of my issues. Best of luck, hope my comment helps. Have a nice day.
40 xanz? That sounds like a dam lie you would overdose. Lying asssss
Ive been thru it all myself. It took a long time, Dr. keep trying all the usual meds they try to push on you. they never worked for me. I would end up in the ER. I thought I was having a heart attack. I went out there so often that finally a Dr. asked me if I had ever tried xanax. He gave me script for ten pills and it was like magic. I had less side effects, it was just all around the best one I had tried. I talked to my Dr. about how well they worked and he agreed to keep me on xanax. Theres no easy way you just have to jump through all there hoops and then if that dont work get a different pill pusher.
I agree there are a lot of pill pushers !
my doc finally gave me xaxan but started me out on o.25 2 times aday that wasnt working for me ,i had alot of grief in my life that i still cant get over then he finally up me to 0.5 2 times a day ,i still need to be upped but he refuses to do that refered me to a phys clinic when they flat out took me i will not give you xaxan or klopin so i guee i'm going back to my doc.now days it's so hard to get narcotics for ppl who really need them.good luck and keep tryin ... angeep
I've been on Xanax for about 3 years im suppose 0.5 mg 4x a day and i don't need it every day but it all depends on the day.
What's the name of your Dr
all depends on the doctor. Just be honest about the panic attacks and symptoms. tell them you have tried other things and coping mechanisms which havnt shown any promis. then say you want to try a benzo (xanax is one of the worst you can ask for though since its very short half life and very fast onset/strength make it the most addictive... try klonopin or valium first in my opinion)
I have taken klonopin for almost 10 yrs. I haven't had any problem with it.
Klonopin (Clonazepam) has a longer half-life, but if you are taken off them it it MUCH harder and more dangerous. A patient running out of Klonopin early, for any reason is very high risk for seizures.
Klonopin makes me mean. Valium is ok. Time released just isn't what I need though. I have severe anxiety disorder and there is no time to wait!
