Meloxicam can affect the way your platelets work.
Slowing down the clotting process so when it reduces the inflammation that's naturally along your nose lining certain people get tears in the lining of their noses and it just begins to gush. And as the son saw clots come out of his nose the second time its probably because they were leftover from the first bleed.
I was on a month long dose and it weakened me
I've had severe nosebleeds every day for a week.
Wrecked my entire digestive system I am still retraining myself how to eat. (It causes your body to create more stomach acid than normal along with other GI symptoms)
I noticed a rash on my arm and then my tummy turned and I didn't realize it can interact with diuretics but it lowered the effectiveness of my diuretics and my pseudotumor has become irritated
And it never helped the pain that I was put on it for.
Hi. I am 61 and while meloxicam helps with my pain, it does cause my sinuses to bleed badly. When I stop the medication, the bleeding stops. Nothing helps with my pain like meloxicam but I must stop it. Just a bit ago I woke up from sleep.due to blood going down my throat.
My 15 yr old son stated the medication due to possible nerve inflammation in this right foot. He was prescribed 15mg and he weighs 130lbs. The first day he took the medication (before bed) and the following day in school he had 2 nose bleeds. Day 2 he experienced 3 nose bleeds with several blood clots that existed from his nostrils. There will be no Day 3. I think the pharmaceutical company needs to include nose bleeds as a side effect.
Is your husband prone to nose bleeds?
Meloxicam can give you a stuffy or runny nose. If his blood vessels are often inflamed this could bring on a nose bleed.
You should check with his doctor.
I agree with suzanne I haven't had nose bleeds I have notice my nose being dry since I started my meds but started 5 at ne time so didn't know which was the cause or all. But he should definatly talk to the dc maybe they'll give him something else. I hope he fells better. Jaime
