Has reclast been tested with insulin dependant diabetics?
Since I had my infusion, my sugar count is through the roof, for me...

I am a type 1 diabetic and since having a Reclast infusion over a week ago, my blood sugars have been above 200 even while using a smart pump which increases insulin amounts when blood sugars are above acceptable levels. Even with additional insulin, my blood sugars remain elevated. I have become insulin resistant. I read that one Reclast study said it did not increase blood glucose levels, while another showed increased blood glucose levels in patients whose diabetes was not well-controlled. Like a previous poster, my blood glucose levels were in range 85% of the time... Pretty well-controlled. Another example of blaming the diabetic. Please read below. I will be filing a report with the FDA and urge anyone with a similar experience do the same.

Reclast is a medication used to treat osteoporosis and other bone diseases. It is given as an infusion or injection into a vein. There is conflicting evidence on whether Reclast affects blood sugar levels in diabetics12. One study found that Reclast did not affect blood glucose readings1, while another study found that Reclast caused elevated blood sugar in 80% of the patients, especially those with poor diabetes control2.
I am having a similar experience. I am also a Type 1 diabetic. My blood sugars are normally 80% or more in range. Since my Reclast infusion, I have been only 39% in range. My pump was refilled and my site set was changed shortly after the infusion because my blood sugar readings started rising for no apparent reason. I just checked tubing and changed my infusion site set again. The set I removed showed no apparent defects.

Reclast has not been shown to affect blood glucose readings. Can you put it down to anything else?
