I'm having a tough time going to sleep so I'm thinking that if I take L-Theanine at bedtime, maybe it will help. I'm on 50mg of Tramadol at bedtime. I do not want to add another Drug.
Has anyone used L-Theanine with the drug Tramadol?

It's fine. I do it, adds extra sedated properties but is fine for me.
Hi Linda,
Call your doc, find out if you can take Tramadol during the day, so it will not cause insomnia at night.
It may build up enough in your system that it will still work on pain during sleep, yet not cause insomnia.
Sometimes opiate or opioid meds can cause insomnia or the opposite.
Best wishes to you,

Hey linda, Based on the interaction checker results there is not interaction between your selected medicines, though it is always best to consult the pharmacist or doctor first. L-theanine is know to have an anti-anxiety effect but without drowsiness so not sure that it will have the effect you want. You might try some melatonin for sleep. You can find it at the vitamin counter.
Just my thoughts,
Laurie
