I have never heard of this untill today and I like to keep track of drugs to reduce / elimanate the pain/sickness /nastyness of withdrawl. The easier we make it to get off the more kids will be able to live a productive life.
As far as I know right now Ibogaine is the gold standard but our wonderful gov't won't allow it
Has anyone taken Zofran for opiate withdrawl symptoms?

i know a person that tried zofran and it worked well.It calms your stomach. It would be great in tandem with something like suboxone,i think
yes and its great, but for me it caused tummy trouble
i can answer this with detail, its the best but its more expensive weight wise than gold. When i went through chemotherapy i was alergic to maxalon & stematil(both anti nasia meds) so the only drug i could use was zofran (,ondaz (ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate) all it does is stop you spewing and you can eat a little. They save it for chemo patients, opiate withdrawl eg morphine wasn't as bad as chemo but , id rather cancer than go through methadone withdrawl again. You can buy it but you would need to be alergic to the athers and it would be about $20 for 1 pill im guessing in the us. hope a generic comes out ,great drug , best wishes
wow! You sound great! Hope all is as good as you sound??
Thank you very much for the informed answer. I am trying to find methods that are asvailable for people to detox. I posted a lengthy post on Ibogaine which is the gold standard but sadly is not allowed in the US.
Does the Zofran help with any of the mental aspects of withdrawl or just the gastro stuff?
You are 100% correct that although methadone is a good choice for long term pain control (mainly because it stays in your system so long as you say) in my case i didn't have those nasty mini withdrawal feelings inbetween doses. I also was on Methadone when I had to detox rapidly. All I can say is thank God for the Ibogaine. The only ill effects I had was some loose stools for a few days. The hard part was that the Ibogaine had to work very hard and the experience when I took it lasted longer than it might have if I had been a herion junkie. I am told that Herion is actually the easiest physically to get off from!!
thanks again for your reply
methadone is the worst drug to come of, 105mg i had to do 3 stages of cold turkey, and i hate life now its destroyed me. 10 yrs ago when i had cancer twice i cold turkey of morphine bout 4 days of shit and a couple of semi rough weeks 5 out of 10. methadone 10 out of 10 horror. Slowly reducing can take years and is torture to mentally emotionally and physically, i hate methadone.May work for some as a last resort but make sure its your last resort. You can get slow release morphine, Kapanol which is great for long term pain, well being and managability. Methadone has destroyed a once bright, motivated, social , moral, value centred person in me. Please dont take this decision of going on methadone or sharing the option with others lightly.best wishes
You have to have a prescription for it in the US. If you don't have Insurance it is about $250 for 20 pills. I have Medi-Cal & they cover the cost.
I am loath to show my ignorance here, but what is zofran? Is it like Suboxone?
It's precribed mainly for nausea, and migraines.
