I want to know if it's worth it for me to pick up the prescription for Skelaxin. I've tried so many drugs to help with this matter and none seem to work. I want to know if it's worth having around. I love Somas and they work for me but for some reason, my doctor doesnt like prescribing them at all to any of her patients. Please advise...
Has anyone taken Skelaxin 800 mg? If so, how does it make you feel? Is it as good as Soma?

I have tried damn near every muscle relaxant known to man. I have chronic arthritis and narrowing in my neck and my muscles are always tight. Skelaxin, prescribed to me 3 or 4 times, has never done a thing. I have tried on an empty stomach, with food, 1600MG, etc... to no avail. Soma is the only thing that works, but it is very spotty when it does. I am not sure what the controlling factor is making it work sometimes and not with others as I have experimented with food and without and neither had any effect. It seems to want to work, when it wants to work. With Soma, I have to take 2 350MG Tablets to feel any effect. It seems Percocet really compliments Soma, but again... not all of the time. It is nice to have some relief, but it isnt always a constant as these medications seem to have varying degrees of usefulness.
I have tried everything and very few products seem to give me the relief I am looking for. Muscle tightness seems constant for me, probably due to the nerves being pinched in my neck. I guess one day I will find a good one-two punch for relief, but it has been a long and very windy road getting to where I am today.
I have taken skelaxin for years due to fluoroquinolone induced tendinitis. It works MIRACLES for the pain .
I would say that this drug is spectacular for tendinitis. It really takes the edge off.
I was prescribed Skelaxin after suffering with whiplash after a car accident. It really wasn't very effective in helping the muscle spasms.
I took it for a week and found it to be completely ineffective. My doctor says that he has had other patients who say the same thing.
I haven't taken Skelexin myself but the link below has reviews/comments made by people who have used it. You may find this useful.
