I was recently placed back on it four weeks after bariatric surgery some of the other patient have said that it helps with emotional eating has anyone else had any experience with anti depressants after gastric bypass surgery?
Has anyone had experience with taking lexapro after having bariatric surgery?

I was on Lexapro for many years for anxiety. In November 2013 I had the gastric bypass surgery. After 4 months I was takin off my blood pressure medicine, my reflux medicine and decided to go off the Lexapro. Even though I was still successful with the surgery and happy with progress my mood had changed. I went back on the Lexapro. I have not had any side effects and it has helped my mood again. I feel much better being on it.

I am also a bariatric patient and on lexapro. Lexapro works great for my anxiety but does nothing for my depression. Do you currently have depression/anciety or are you just needed it for your emotional eating??
