From my experience being a college student who has adhd, students will pay good money for adderall. If you take it and you don't need it for a disorder it apparently keeps you up all night and going. People have told me it's a legal form of coke.
If he is regularly up for two days or more there is no way he would get enough from an ADHD script to sustain that for very long. It is far more likely, as KM suggested, that he is using larger than therapeutic amounts of meth' amphetamine (if there is a therapeutic dose for this amphetamine). He needs to see an addiction counsellor. Continued use will lead to psychiatric issues later (depression, anxiety and psychosis).
Look under drug class : CNS stimulants. There is a section devoted to ADHD treatments for children. He is most likely being treated with one of these stimulants. CNS means central nervous system. ADHD is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Good Luck!
The biggest one would be methamphetamine. Its easy to make and cheap. It will also keep you awake. I don't know the new designer drugs too well. The other thing I can think of is cough medicine, the dextromethorphan in it. Kids drink a large amt of it. The only way to help is to convince him to get into rehab if he's addicted to drugs. If he's taking them once in a while for the experience that's a different storyand he needs guidance.
