Yes, generic versions are available.
Zoloft was first manufactured by pfizer. However, it has since come off patent and is available as a generic.
Zoloft (sertraline hydrochloride) is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). Zoloft affects chemicals in the brain.
It is used to treat:
Depression
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Panic disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd)
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (pmdd)
Social anxiety disorder (social phobia).
The following manufacturers now make a generic version of zoloft:

Generic zoloft tablets and liquid are available in the following strengths:
sertraline 25 mg tablets
sertraline 50 mg tablets
sertraline 100 mg tablets
sertraline oral concentrate 20 mg per ml.
Is sertraline as good as zoloft?
All generic medications must undergo certain tests to compare them to brand-name medications. Based on test results the fda has assigned an "ab" rating to all the generic sertraline products. This means all the generic sertraline products should be therapeutically equivalent to zoloft. Generic drugs can have different inactive ingredients than their brand name equivalents. This can include dyes, fillers or other ingredients which may cause problems for some people who are sensitive or have allergies.

How can I find out about fillers and dyes etc as per your advise. I do not like the idea of having these ingredients included in my tablets. I take 2 x 100mg per day.

Acuanaut, I made some involuntary mistakes and I am resposible for my acitons... for all the info you need for USA generics go to www.fda.gov and you will find everything you need to know.I lived in the states, but I live in another country.Once again I apologise for giving you generics which I would have thought were available in such a developed society.
