I am confused by these test results! So don't like right. I am waiting to here from doctor. These test results came via email.
Added 16 July 2011:UPDATE: I FORGOT TO MENTION I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED YEARS AGO WITH A TINY UMBILICAL HERNIA but they said surgery wasn't neccessary back then because it was small and it would be elective I have gained 50 lbs since then could this hernia be the cause of my current pain which is progressively worse it hurts more and more each day and the pain goes from waist line or little lower up to navel with some zapping pains in my navel and bloating and pain and pressure in my lower stomach. I see my docs again Monday but I have to wait until then the pain is getting bad!

Hey Jenny,
Yes, it could definitely be the hernia. You need to rest and try to relax until you can see the doctor on Monday. Don't forget to tell him about the hernia.
Hang in there girl.
Laurie
Hey Jenny,
Your test results look normal except for the budding yeast which isn't anything to be overly concerned about. I would try and relax and wait for the doctor's call. You may have simply pulled a muscle in the pelvic region below the navel.
Are you still having symptoms? Did the doctor mention whether he was going to do a culture?
Laurie
The only part that concerned me was this:
LEUKOCYTE ESTERASE, UR
TRACE
A
the A is under the heading "FLAG" on my results and it stands for abnormal so i am curious about it and my stomach still hurts and last time they sent me kidney results I was the one to catch the abnormalities which prompted them to refer me to a specialist I trust my docs but I trust no doctor completely ever
Leukocyte esterase test suggests an infection as there are white blood cells present though only a trace. May have a UTI as others have suggested. Doctor may prescribe an antibiotic. Nothing to be anxious about. If need be, call the doctor tomorrow and get them to review the results with you. Ask if you need an antibiotic.
Hey Laurie I looked up an article that says the same thing that you just say about an infection but the nurse sent a quicky email saying its fine. But I called back anyway and demanded a doc call me back and go through this with me anyway. I not really nervous just curious and pissed I am not getting the doctors to go through the lab results with me at all.
Just be aware that a trace amount of leukocyte esterase isn't exceptionally unusual. May or may not indicate the beginnings of an infection. I don't blame you for wanting to talk to the doctor though.
Talk to the doctor- I have thyroid problems-once I had lab work that showed my thyroid in the danger level-the lab sent me a copy with the results circled in red-and a notation that I needed to see a MD ASAP. The nurse had called me and said that everything was just fine. I went to check-in and showed them the lab wotrk and I couldn't wait a month, I had been calling the nurse, and I ended up standing in the reception area screaming that I'd sue-my family would sue-and telling people to look what the lab said- By the way-a good doctor told me to HAVE THE LAB MAIL ME THE RESULTS. That's probably the only reason I'm alive now-The lab mailed me the results. And this was an internalist-but bad nurse. They rushed me into an office-and the doctor almost fainted, it was the first time she saw the lab work.
Also I'm supposed to be in kidney failure according to a lab. I go hiking, walk hounds everyday, been digging in the yard-I'm not peeing blood, my ankles aren't swollen, I can pee-but I'm not dribbling all day or feeling like I need to pee, nothing is bloated, my back doesn't hurt, I'm not nauseaous, -and fortunately my new doctor said that he knows health when he sees it and I'm healthy-Labs screw up. My son was terrified because they kept taking blood for diabetis tests- the 4th time he was really upset, wondering why the doctor hadn't done anything about the condition-and how bad was it-the lab lost a sample, lost results, and the equipment malfunctioned. They finally got it together, and he still has normal blood sugar-so ask about the accuracy rate of your lab. I can go on and on about lousy nurses, lack of communication between labs, patients, nurses, and doctors, inaccurate labs, blah, blah. Stand your ground-talk to that doctor-
Thank you Meyati!

Dear , Dr xx reviewed your chart. He thinks if you are complaining of lower abdominal pain you would need an office visit for possible pelvic exam; urine did show budding yeast but not likely cause of abdominal pain and will not treat until gets proper exam and further tests as necessary. If the symptoms persist please call to book an urgent care appointment.
I figured the budding yeast was the only thing from the analysis to be aware of. If you are still having symptoms, call for an appointment. Keep in touch.
Thanks Laurie!
I'm sorry that you are having to work so hard in just finding out what's wrong and causing the pain. Let us know what the doctor says after the exam.
Thank you Mel.
Well, it could mean a bladder infection or peritonitis or pelvic inflammatory infection. You need to visit a doctor to determine the proper diagnosis, though. Speculation only adds to the current pains. Hope this helps, xoxo
THank you Begotten.
I agree with Jenail, it sounds like it could be a UTI or urinary tract infection. It can cause pain and tenderness above the pubic bone. You can feel an extreme urge to empty your bladder and when you try to go you may get only a few drops. You may feel burning and pain when you try to urinate and sometimes a pulsing spasm like pain above the pubic bone when trying to urinate. Definitly drink lots of water and see if you can get to the Dr or Urgent care to confirm. You will need to provide a urine specimen while you are there for them to test to see if it is a UTI so they can give antibiotics. Once you start the antibiotics you should feel better in a few days. If it is not a UTI your Dr can let you know the best route to finding out what is going on.
Thank you very much Dzoo for this answer I agree I have these before it feels alot like that but I wanted to gage what you all thought too.
Now it the pressure feeling is rising up to just below my ribcage feels awful. The pain/pressure feeling starts right above at my belt line and rises up to below ribcage main pain area is waistline though.
Your new comment does not sound like a urinary infection. I suggest you seek medical attention with your physician. Could be a female problem , a stomach problem, who knows. With the pain you are describing you are best evaluated by your doctor. Just my thoughts...
Get yourself to a doctor-it's possible that the urinary infection is going into your kidneys which would cause the pain to be up in your rib cage. That happened to me once. You might have something really serious, or a combination of small things that happened at the same time. It all starts with a doctor visit and a urine test. I'm very worried about you.
I just set up an appt. w/doctor today for 2pm. The pain is back and my whole is bloated and uncomfortable and a bit painful and hurts more when I prop myself up. My back is a bit soar but its soar alot so don't know if its connect to this issue. I guess I will find out shortly.
Just got back from doc's and no UTI found he asked me if I had problems with fibroids and I told him actually yes, I hadn't even thought of this, he asked if I had a history of uterine cysts and I do so he has me scheduled for a transvaginal ultersound Monday. And he drew some blood and said he is going to culture out the urine just to be safe. So now I am totally confused as to what could be going on.
Wow Jenny! So sorry to hear this, although female complaints have a way of causing refered pain to other areas. Keep us posted as to what is going on! Hope you feel better soon! I'm glad you went to the Dr right away and that they are looking into the matter. Did they mention any possibilty of pevic inflammatory disease? Did they do any scrapings of the cells to check under the microscope yet?
It is good they cultured the urine but they may need to check the vaginal and cervical cells and check for the presence of infection/inflammation of the female organs. Are you having any vaginal bleeding or discharge?
Thank you Dzoo I have great doctors where I go. So hope to find out something soon. The pain an bloating comes and goes right now its fine for the most part. No vaginal bleeding. I have a history of endometrosis (diagnosed), fibroids, cysts, and an emergency D & C surgery after son was born I had a retained placenta which had to be surgically removed out of my uterus.
Like I said earlier about the interstestial cysts! I had endometriousis and then kept going to the dr for bladder infections. Antibiotics didn't work, and then there was some blood in my urine! It was miserable..I gave up any type of caffeine and drank tons of water. The cysts went away..thank God. The Doc can give you a med thats numbs your bladder so it's not so uncomfortable... hope this helps! Sweetpea

I never thought about an intenstinal cyst I will have to mention the possibility to my doctor. Thank you.
I'm glad that you got into a doctor-a good doctor at that. uterine fibroids can be all over the place-anterior-the front-and posterior the back-They thicken the uterus walls, which makes it heavier, and it sounds like your uterus might be tipped. The muscles-ligaments get stretched through time and pregnancy, so the uterus tips and puts abnormal pressure on internal organs, etc. Then we can have cysts all over the place that can cause doubling up pain. I had 2 posterior fibroids and a tipped uterous, so it was hard for a doctor to find the fibroids during a pelvic exam. I had a hysterectomy, and it solved lots of problems. Now they have many options for care. If you have really strong stomach and back muscles-the enlarged uterous is pushed down and up instead of the tummy sticking out. That really causes back ache and bloating.
They referred me to my gyno I forgot to mention I also have a tipped uterus which does put pressure on my back or has.
Sounds like a bladder infection to me. Does it burn when you tinkle? I get them ALL the time and it sucks!! Lots of pressure and urgency and burning when you go. You probably need to go to the doc and make sure. If it is a urinary tract infection you will need antibiotics to clear it up. And drink lots of water and cranberry juice also helps. Try to stay away from caffeine. Hope this helps. I'm here for ya!
Thats what I am thinking too. I have had UTI's it sort of feels like that but i a bit more intense. Thank you Jenail for your advice.
I agree. It does sound like a bladder infection, and only lab work will show you if you have an infection or not. If ignored, you could end up with kidney trouble or even heart trouble from the infection going through your body. If you don't have an infection-your inflamed GI tract could be putting pressure on your bladder. It's like being pregnant, with a baby or an inflamed gut putting pressure on your bladder. Get your urine checked, before you end up on a transplant list. We love you-and drink lots of cranberry juice-I'm just about addicted to it. It really helps my system in lots of ways.
Jenail,
If you drink a LOT of caffeine, and the antibiotics don't work. Is there any blood in your urine? It might be intercestial cyctitis (spelling), it is nothing serious, but very uncomfortable. Just bring it up if antibotics wont work... hope this helps! Sweetpea
