Fibromyalgia is a malfunction of how the nervous system signals pain to the brain. No cure has been identified. Diagnosed with fibro in 1984, I have tried a few dozen drugs over time. Only two have helped--hydrocodone for pain and low-dose amitriptyline in the evening for more relaxing sleep.
Fibromyalgia is typically treated with Lyrica/Savella/Cymbalta. I have read of others who had improvement with one of these, but I did not. My rheumatologist said that they help about ten percent of persons with fibromyalgia. I long ago learned to live with the discomfort because I don't want to add serious side effects. Wish you success in handling your symptoms.
Cannabis and tylenol and a heating pad.
