Hi I have been dealing with sciatica pain since November 2020. I take gabapentin 900mg twice a day and 1200mg at bedtime. It works well for me but it took almost 18 months to build it up to this level. Gabapentin takes time to build up.to an effective level. I haven't had any side effects either. I recommend trying it.

November 2020 was 10 months ago. It took 18 months to build up on your system. So beginning on November of last year you were diagnosed by a physician, prescribed a medication (we'll assume that this was the first medication prescribed and it worked right away). Established a regimen of dosages which needs 18 months become effective all in 10 months. I'm looking for something a little quicker. Maybe you know of something I would need to take for 6 months before it works that starts working today?
I take the NSAID Diclofenac for severe pain. It's stronger than ibuprofen but harder on your stomach. 50mg 3 times a day works better for me than tramadol or opioids. I also take Robaxin, a better muscle relaxant than Flexeril. It comes anywhere from 500mg to 2500 mg a day. I take 500 mg twice a day and 750mg at bedtime. Maybe one of these would help. Tylerallen
Gabapentin is good treatment for nerve pain. I do not think sciatic pain is caused by nerve pain.
Never worked for me. Bad reactions with it, especially stomach issues, ankle swelling and dreaded weight gain
