I had no idea gabapentin is thought to prevent migraine... I take 1800 mg of gabapentin each night for Restless Legs Syndrome, and I have had a daily persistent migraine for 4 months now. I do hope it is successful for you.
I actually had to stop the gabapentin. It caused chest pain for me, and is not recommended for those with heart issues/the elderly. I am 76 and have high BP and high cholesterol. There is an FDA investigation into all the anticonvulsants regarding this. Hope your migraine is better.
I’ve been taking Gabapentin for a month now, and had to cut back on my coffee intake to alleviate the anxiousness it caused me. After that I’ve had no problem.
I’ve been taking 900 mg at bedtime for a year and haven’t experienced anxiousness. I do feel sleepy mid-morning and that is new.
