Pumpkin pies
I read your post about 12 weeks. I've been on 40mg for 7 weeks now and the last few days have been hard feeling sick and down and ocd thoughts that then make me anxious that my meds aren't working. My doctor has said he's seen big improvement and to just keep going it will only get better. I have anxiety disorder PTSD and OCD from childhood trauma. Please if I could have some support and someone to talk to. Kind regards and keep safe
Fluoxetine - little support, having a few hard days. I need to know I'm doing right?

Hi, Demi!
Hang on girl, it sounds as if you're on the right track. It can take 6-8 weeks for fluoxetine to work on depression but anxiety disorders respond more slowly to the medication, especially OCD. It's great that your doctor is seeing significant improvements but I wonder if you're still anxious enough that you're overlooking them and dwelling on the negatives. That's the way anxiety likes to work because it doesn't want you to feel better because you're used to living with it and you're unsure of life without it.
You're not alone! Everyone here has or did have these ups and downs and that's the purpose of these forums, to give support and share information and experiences.
Are you in therapy? I might suggest CPT (cognitive processing therapy) for your PSTD if you have a trained therapist in your area. I didn't really realize that I had PTSD as one of the underlying causes of my anxiety and depression until I was tested for it. This therapy has taken me on a big 180 degree turn for the better.
