I started on sertraline 7 weeks ago, i noticed an improvement in my anxiety but felt little lift in my my mood and depression. The doctor suggested increasing from 5mg to 100mg. I have been on 100mg for 5 days and am feeling much more anxious, have ruminating thoughts all day and just feel generally low. Is the worsening in symptoms normal?
Experience of Increase dosage?

Hi, Lily!
New or recurring side effects are common after a dosage increase... after all you doubled your dose. What you describe is "normal" or at least not unexpected. After 5 days they should be resolving quickly now... they general only last a week or so. If they persist or they're making you really miserable let your doctor know as that doubling jump may be a bit much all at once. You might benefit from using a 25mg tablet and take 75mg until you're free of effects and your metabolism is better adjusted.
