I have been on sertraline for anxiety for a year at 50mg and was doing really well until April this year. My doctor increased my dose to 100mg and after the first week things seems fine again. Until the past 2 weeks, I have had really bad depression with bad headaches, no appetite or motivation to do anything, feeling really low and “empty,” and constantly tired even if I have slept all night after an hour of being awake, I feel like I need to sleep. Has anyone else experienced this? I think 100mg might be too high for me since 50 mg worked wonders for a year. Planning on ringing my GP on Monday for an appointment.
Sertraline - sertraline 100mg - is my dose to high?

Hi, Amy!
Good thing that you're talking with your doctor. A dosage increase is usually indicated when someone has breakthrough anxiety. Side effects are almost expected for some people after a dosage increase but they usually only last a few days to a week or two. Your's are lasting too long and are too severe.
Doubling your dose all at once may have been a bit much and maybe adding 25mg might have worked. But since the first week was okay it's unusual for side effects to suddenly appear though.
Maybe cutting back some might help but you do need to get professional advice on where to go from here.
I hope you're feeling better soon!
