I was prescribed lexapro 14 years ago after being diagnosed with general anxiety disorder and depression.
Before starting medication I had experienced a number of panic attacks that led me to the ER more times than I care to admit. Each time I was sent home with a clear bill of health. I was scared to leave my house and even going to the supermarket freaked me out. My husband and children were deeply affected by my condition.
Within six weeks of starting lexapro I was a new woman. The anxiety lifted and I was able to live a productive life again.
It takes between 6-8 weeks for antidepressants to work at an optimal level. There may be some mild side effects in the early weeks. The best thing to do is to come here regularly and read the positive reviews. Trust in the process. For many people the results of medication are positive. I literally thank God for modern medicine every day because it has given me back my life.
I wish you all the best. Please update us as you begin your journey.
