Blood thinning, ulcers and liver damage probably top ten on the list of concerns. Too much caffeine can actually cause headaches in some folks, which is partially the reason it can help alleviate them as well. Makes sense to honor the warning though, especially since combinations with other medications may cause issues as well.
Our Excedrin has Aspirin, Tylenol & caffeine in it. Most has 500mg of aspirin & tylenol so if you took 2, & then 2 later on, you are ok. 4000 is the limit of mg of tylenol in a 24 hour period. I have on occasion taken more than 2 a day for my allerigy headaches, & they work great! They do upset my stomache, but rather have that then a bad headache... Check the bottle for the amount of each ingredient as the newer kind could have more. They don't reccomend you take more than 2000 mg of tylenol, but the max is still 4000mg. My rheumatologist doesn't like me taking more than 3 - 500mg of tylenol a day because of taking it daily. One time will not damage your liver. ...
Excedrin is paracetamol, caffiene and asprin. if i were taking it i would take it every 8 hours and make sure i had at least a glass of milk or food before each dose. i am not in america and our doses are different. asprin can cause blood thinning and gastric ulcers that is why the food it should also not be used by asthmatics. Paracetamol can damage your liver if used in excess. if you are unsure ask your parmacist.
